Coconut chutney is a versatile blend of flavours and popular recipe from south India. This coconut chutney recipe from my grandmother I am not a big fan of South Indian cuisine but I love this chutney as it goes well with not only South Indian dishes like idli dosa medu vada etc but also with parathas, sandwiches, Frankies, pakoras etc
This is the recipe from my childhood from which I grew up with..... whenever I go to a native place I need this chutney with all the South Indian dishes I mentioned above because I don't like the flavour of sambar that much. today I will be sharing you, my grandmothers, coconut chutney recipe I hope you will love this let's start making

Ingredients
2cups Coconut2-3 green chillies
2-inch ginger
3-4 Garlic clove
6-7 Curry leaves
1 tbsp tamarind
1 handful green coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Some water to grind
Method of preparation
- In a grinder, add coconut, green chillies, ginger, garlic, curry leaves, tamarind, green coriander leaves and salt.
- Then add some water and grind until as smooth as possible.
- Now the coconut chutney is ready to serve with idli, dosa medu vada and even pakoras.
Note: you can use this chutney maximum 2 day after that the fats in coconut start degrading(oxidize)and thus give a foul smell.
